Lorraine Waterhouse
Patron

is Head of the School of Social and Political Studies at the University of Edinburgh, 2003-2006. She was appointed to the Chair of Social Work in 1994. Her research concentrates on children and families, their health and development. She is a chair of the Complaints Tribunal for the City of Edinburgh Council. She was a member of the Parole Board for Scotland for six years. Educated in Canada, she came to Scotland in 1972 when she worked as a social worker in the Department of Child and Family Psychiatry in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh.
