As an occupational therapist practised in many areas of mental health including general psychiatry, adolescence and substance misuse services before moving in to general management in the health service in 1994. Appointed Health Inequalities Manager in the then Lothian Primary Care Trust in 1999 and now in Primary Care services of NHS Lothian. Tackling health inequalities is a national priority and requires effective collaboration with service users and partners from a variety of agencies in the statutory, voluntary and private sector.
Long term interest in human relations work and understanding the processes which impact on the effectiveness of working at an individual, group and organisational level in our society. Appointed as a Board Director of Dance Base in June 2006.
