Jill Prentice has a background in statutory and voluntary agency social work, counselling and psychotherapy since 1967 and is currently a Senior Psychotherapist with North Cumbria Mental health and Learning Disabilities NHS Trust and a Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist and supervisor at the Scottish Institute of Human Relations (SIHR) and in private practice. She is involved in training courses for health, social work and education personnel and presently Chairs the Social Work Advisory Group - an SIHR initiative to promote psychodynamic and systemic understanding in social work education and practice. She is also a member of the Ethics Commitee of the Scottish Association of Psychoanalytical Psychotherapists. Initiating the idea of the Sutherland Trust, she was its first Secretary/Trustee, before becoming a Patron in 2002.
