Patron - Irene Cotter (Linton)

I have recently retired from a long career in the Health Service becoming interested in social and psychodynamic psychiatry when I trained as a nurse at Dingleton Hospital. As I moved on and up the career ladder I retained an interest in this work, although Idid not have the opportunity to practice I encouraged and supported staff to undergo training in the use of themodels.

My career latterly has involved work in the prison service with people with mental health problems and drug abusers. I now work part-time as a drug counsellor using the social and psychodynamic models where appropriate. Along with my nursing qualifications I have a MSc and Diploma in Community Care.
