Eilish Garland Eilish works as Manager, Advice and Conciliation Service, Children and Families Department, City of Edinburgh Council, with responsibility for conflict resolution mainly between Head Teachers/Senior Managers and parents. She has previous extensive teaching experience across a wide range of educational provision in Primary, Secondary and Special Education, Community Adult Education, Family and Adolescent Psychiatry Services (YPU) and Psychological Services. Eilish has management experience for the last twelve years in the Education Department HQ in Policy, Planning and Communications Group with responsibility for Advice and Conciliation from its conception. She also undertakes continuing professional development in the private and public sectors with senior staff, executive coaching, counselling, lecturing, educational advice, mediation, group analysis, organisational reviews, consultancy and presentations at conferences both nationally and internationally. Eilish trained as a counsellor with SIHR and as a mediator with Mediation UK, and is a member of the Association of Directors of Education for Scotland (ADES) and of SIHR. Until recently, a member of the Scottish Mediation Network and in the private sector, the Director of Advice and Conciliation in Education and Quinn Garland Ltd.
