Aubrey Manning Zoologist with especial interest in animal behaviour so have always had links with psychology and the social sciences. Retired from Chair of Natural History at Edinburgh in 1997. Now much involved with natural history and earth science with BBC radio and TV and with the public understanding of science. Long connections with the psychodynamic approach to human problems through my wife, Joan Herrmann, who is a child psychotherapist working in the Glasgow NHS. Served for a spell on the Council of the Scottish Institute of Human Relations.
